Seattle, Washington ~ May 19, 2005
The rain echoed teardrops at the Woodland Park Zoo as friends gathered for a memorial service for zookeeper Heidi Frohring on May 18, 2005. Her death may remind us to be wary of dangerous relationships and drugs, but her too-short life should remind us to care for life on this planet, and that one passionate voice can inspire others. Heidi died on May 1. A memorial was held at the zoo on May 18.

How sad and poignant and touching this is... and what a perfect photo of the "river horse" in the rain. May all find peace in this world and the next.
It's always sad to lose an inspiring voice.
Coming back to look at this beautiful photo again... how do you do it? With such lovely images that fit the scene so perfectly, and text to match it. I just can't imagine the magic you weave, but you always do. Gracias, amiga!
This is such a lovely and poignant image. You've captured a raindrop ripple with your camera. It echoes your tribute to Heidi--every life ripples out and effects those around it.
...or rather, "affects those around it." oops...
What a stunning picture ! :D
RIP, Heidi... :/
You have caught the sense of sadness very well with this picture. Excellent!
