I'm not sure why but whenever I see ruins like this I want to take pictures of it. There is something very interesting and beautiful about an old building being slowly reclaimed by nature. Great shot Sheryl.
Nice composition. Looks like there is a tree growing on top of what used to be a roof! Wonder what happened that what appears to be a rather grand structure "bit the dust," so to speak?
What a shame it's falling apart. I find it interesting that so many buildings in the eastern hemisphere survive many, many centuries (sometimes millennia) but we in the west let beautiful structures fall apart.
