From a Cafe

New York ~ May 6, 2009
MoMA

It's funny, I thought the obvious thing with this photo would be to crop out the odd pieces on the sides and bottom, but it killed the photo. Leaving them in made it less perfect, but more balanced or more interesting, or more something. This was an amazing day in NYC, with perfect spring weather and a long birthday walk from downtown up to Central Park.

Today I'm taking part in Weekend Reflections by James.

Another fabulous photo, reflections and all. I'm married to a photographer so I see excellent photography all the time, and yours "take the cake!"

How do you do it? Just wonderful.

I like the simplicity so zen of this table ornament... The reflection on the windows is very discreet, but I like how it shows spooky shape of building...

The background is absolutely wonderful! (I LOVE wonky reflections.)

This is gorgeous. It looks almost like a painting.

I love the MoMA (and NYC) and the way you captured this quiet scene - the city is looking good, even distorted!

I agree with you! This is a fantastic photo! The hint of a yellow reflection in the window is also part of what makes it so beautiful.

Beautiful shot of colour, great perspective!

Love the soft focus and the crookedness of the reflection. But the yellow flower shines too!

The distortions in the reflections give a great, abstract feeling to this shot that starts so simply as a picture of flowers.
