Piazza Archimede

Syracuse (Siracusa), Sicily, Italy ~ April 27, 2004
Island of Ortygia

Taken by an animal motif as usual, I may not have known we had stumbled upon a piazza and fountain dedicated to the great scientist and mathematician Archimedes, who lived and died in Syracuse (287-212 or 211 BC).

I love fountains, and what a fantastic fish! I didn't know this was the town Archimedes went streaking through all those centuries ago. Eureka!!

To answer your comment on my blog (I'm finally learning to answer people's comments on their blogs, so they actually see them. :-) ), you might be surprised at what your old Photoshop can do. The program I use is the incredibly basic Windows Live Photo Gallery that came loaded on my netbook (although the simplicity is nice because I'm still learning). It really can be a lot of fun to play around with color.
