Island of Ortygia
Island of Ortygia
I think I'll do a short series on this delightful ancient city surrounded by seas. I've already posted a few shots of the harbor, the sea wall, and an old-new take on the meaning of horsepower. Now, let's see what else I can find. We spent a memorable day walking through the old city, stopping for a "Why-can't-I-get-this-at-home?" fish lunch under one of those umbrellas. That's Lee with the red backpack, getting hungry.

What a lovely photo and lovely description of a lovely day! And the guy in the red back pack, "getting hungry..." how perfect could that be?
How funny! I saw the title first and was expecting a photo of Syracuse, NY. What a lovely location. I'd never want to go home (well, at least not for a couple of months). :-)
Lee always makes me hungry. Heh, heh. Oh, you were talking about lunch under the umbrella. :-)
What a beautiful place. Your photos graphically relate how positively provincial I've been most of my life. But they also open my eyes to the beauty of a world not yet seen.
I recognized Lee before I read your text. Bet the fish lunch was totally delicious!
