December 26, 2009 ~ Bend, Oregon
On December 26, 2009, freezing fog in Bend turned trees and plants into a frosted world where everything seemed quiet and time stood still. I've heard from Lee that the same thing happened today in Bend. You can see another photo of that day in 2009 right here, and you can see this traffic-circle sculpture of mama deer and her fawn among late spring foliage here.

That frost really does make the scene look so sweet and magical! I've been enjoying getting close and personal with the frost here in Austria, too. Didn't last too long, though. Your white on white is pretty to look at, too. Bend is not that far from you... interesting that Lee has the frost and you don't.
Francisca - Bend is 5 hours from here - across a river valley and on the other side of a mountain range. It is high desert, and Astoria is coastal. We get some of the same weather systems, but they usually behave differently.
Personally I think "weather or not" it is a terrific photo, one certainly worth keeping in a special file.
Wonderful decoration.
What a delight. It looks like something out of a children's fairy book. Magical indeed!
Wow! Seeing this one covered with frost during Christmas time compared to the bronze one is incredible. Just amazing. And there's a pine tree in the background that seems to have grown up since the original bronze photo was taken. Love the Christmas wreaths, too!
And what wonderful text, of course. "A moment in time."
Just what I needed today. Thanks!
Can you put a Facebook link on your blog? I would LOVE to share this one on my FB page. It's just phenomenal.
This is the visual definition of "winter wonderland". It's enchanting.
