Cactus, Front and Center

December 30, 2004 ~ Sabino Canyon, Arizona

They say you're not supposed to put your main subject smack-dab in the middle of the photo. I'm not sure why I did, and in fact it doesn't ruin this photo for me. I love the cactus, and I was proud of myself for doing so well on that long trail. And I wasn't sure how much farther we had to go. And the scenery was breathtaking. In other words, composing the photo was one of the last things on my mind.

Hey There! Hope you are doing better these days.
I've taken a couple of photography classes (back in the day) and I came to the conclusion that most photography rules were meant to be broken. It all depends on what your looking at. Every photo doesn't have to be a piece of art. Sometimes we are just taking snapshots. Right?
Anyway, that is one heck of a gnarled cactus against a shocking blue sky. Looks good to me!
