I am really upset. It seems that I've lost a lot of pictures from when I lived in France. Maybe they didn't make it from my old laptop to the external hard drive. So sad...

Halcyon: did you take your laptop and the external hard drive to a computer shop to see if they can recover the photos? It is possible sometimes. Good luck and best wishes; I know how important our special photos can be.
